How to Grow Your Email List as a Realtor

Chief Editor

Email marketing is a valuable part of any real estate business. It allows you to target your audience personally, build trust and establish a relationship with potential clients. Even better? The cost-per-lead for email marketing is significantly lower than other traditional methods. However, building an email list can be challenging for many agents: fortunately, there are several ways you can grow your email list as a realtor—starting today!

Email Existing Clients

They’re an easy source of email addresses, and they trust you, so they’re more likely to give you their information than strangers are. You can ask for their email address in person or over the phone when you schedule a showing with them. If that’s not possible, use snail mail as another way to get this information from them. Also, you can offer them something like a postcard reminder service if they don't want to receive your email newsletters —this is pretty common among older generations who aren't familiar with how frequently marketers send out promotional emails nowadays!

Create a sign-up page on your website for your email newsletters

If you don't have a sign-up page, create one! It's important to make sure your email newsletters are easy to find and use.

  • Make sure it's easy to find. Your sign-up page should be visible on every page of your website.

  • Make sure the form is easy to use. The more steps someone has to go through just to subscribe, the less likely they are going to do it at all.

QR codes on your direct mailers

QR codes are the fastest way to get people to sign up for your email newsletter. When you send out direct mailers, include a QR code that links directly to your website or blog.

Your QR code should be placed in the top corner of your marketing and it should be large enough that it's easy for people to scan with their phone camera. A good size is around 3" x 3".

Ensure your website is optimized with pop-ups & banners

You can leverage digital marketing to drive web traffic and build an email list of prospects who want to hear about new listings in their area.

The first step is to optimize your website for capturing leads by adding pop-ups or banners that ask people for their contact information when they visit. This will help you build an audience that is interested in buying or selling a home so that when the time comes, they’re already familiar with your brand and know who to contact for help. Be sure to track data for engagement on these as well to ensure messaging is capturing engagement.

Target your audience on social media platforms

Social media is a great way to reach out to your target audience. Platforms like Facebook and Instagram allow you to target your audience based on interests, location, and demographics so you can promote your services and capture potential clients' information.

Advertise your email newsletter in sponsorship ads & other print media

Sponsorship ads and print media: As you know, sponsorship ads are one of the most effective ways to advertise your brand or business. They’re especially great for realtors because they allow you to reach an audience that may not be aware of what you offer.

  • Highlight the benefits of your newsletter: If someone is reading a regular publication, chances are it’s because they want something specific out of that publication. For example, if someone is reading their local newspaper every day on their commute to work, they likely want news about what’s happening in their town or city. By including information about your email newsletter in one of these advertisements, you can show potential readers why subscribing to your list will benefit them specifically.

Measure your results with google analytics

Google Analytics is a powerful tool that can help you measure the success of your email campaigns. To set up Google Analytics, follow these steps:

  • Go to https://www.google.com/analytics/

  • Click “Sign Up” in the upper right corner of the website

  • Enter your website URL and click “Next” at the bottom of the page

  • On this screen, select “I agree” if you agree with their terms of service and then click “Next” again

Conclusion

There are many ways to grow your email list as a Realtor. We hope that this post has helped you gain some inspiration!
